Connect on Ubuntu with Simplify 2.0 and Rhythmbox

Getting Started

1) Download and uncompress simplifymedia.tar.gz

2) Configure your player to work with Simplify Media. The included README has all of the details.

3) Launch SimplifyMedia and sign in with your Simplify Media screen name and password. If you don't have a free account, create one from the sign-in screen.

4) Invite more friends to enjoy more music. Now, Linux, PCs, Macs and iPhones can all connect.

Note: Simplify Media can run in server-only mode. Please refer to the README for details.

Rhythmbox with Simplify Media.  You can also use Banshee.

Requirements

Simplify Media has been tested on Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04, and these versions are required for Rhythmbox integration.

To run on 64-bit OS, install ia32-libs.

Limitations

Playback: Song lengths may display inaccurately and the song progress bar is not operational.

Server: Except for WMA files, all file types supported by Simplify Media can be streamed from Linux machines. Note that playlists cannot be shared from Linux.
