Getting Started
If you store media files on a Linux server, running Simplify Media in server-only mode is a convenient way to access your music.
1) Download and uncompress simplifymedia.tar.gz
2) Start server from the command line
If you do not already have a free Simplify Media screen name and password, create one using on Linux by starting SimplifyMedia. |
Requirements
Core Simplify Media functionality is native on Linux, and Simplify Media can be run in server-only mode on most distrubutions. It has only been tested using Ubuntu 7.10 and CentOS.
Limitations
Server: Only mp3 files can be streamed from Linux servers. Also, playlists cannot be shared from Linux.
