Run Simplify Media on your Linux server

Getting Started

If you store media files on a Linux server, running Simplify Media in server-only mode is a convenient way to access your music.

1) Download and uncompress simplifymedia.tar.gz

2) Start server from the command line

If you do not already have a free Simplify Media screen name and password, create one using on Linux by starting SimplifyMedia.

Requirements

Core Simplify Media functionality is native on Linux, and Simplify Media can be run in server-only mode on most distrubutions. It has only been tested using Ubuntu 7.10 and CentOS.

Limitations

Server: Only mp3 files can be streamed from Linux servers. Also, playlists cannot be shared from Linux.
